Weekend Update

Hello long lost friends in blogger world!  I hope you have missed me as much as I've missed you.  I know I've been MIA for a long while now, and I have some things to catch you up on.

First of all, I have a confession.  I lost my job about a month and a half ago.  Honestly, it was the best thing that could have happened to me.  I was MISERABLE.  That should have translated into blogging more regularly, but somehow it didn't.  I have been working on a lot of different projects and there will be more to come on everything that has been going on, so stayed tuned.

In the meantime, I had a nice quiet weekend in this weekend.  Friday night the hubby had to work late, so we picked up a frozen pizza for dinner and watched some Netflix.  Our latest obsession:  The West Wing.  We have been known to stay up way too late a few nights a week because we are so into it.

We had a nice little lazy Saturday morning, enjoyed a cup of coffee and some PJ time on the couch, and then spend Saturday afternoon cleaning the house.  It was definitely needed.  I am still blown away by how quickly the floors and everything else get dusty and dirty again.  I clean and turn around a few days later and everything needs to be cleaned again.

Saturday night, we had a date night.  The hubby and I went to see Safe Haven.  We went to this cool theatre near our house where you can have dinner and drinks while watching the movie.  We've been watching our money really closely, not going out, not shopping, etc.  But we decided that we could splurge a little bit for one night out to enjoy ourselves.  And I'm glad we did.  The food was great and we will definitely be going back to see movies at this place.  Safe Haven was good, although not as good as the book.  But what movie is?

Sunday we watch the Blackhawks game (Detroit Sucks!).  My father-in-law came over to hang out with us.  We watch the game, had lunch and he got some photography help from the hubby for an upcoming trip.  It was a nice quiet weekend that we enjoyed taking advantage of since the next couple of weekends are going to be jam packed with activity.

How was your weekend?
