The weekend started off with a very unexpected surprise. A text from my mom: "She needs a name." And this little face appeared.
Puppy! I have a new sister! She is an 8 week old Maltipoo (maltese-poodle) and just the cutest little thing. I don't think she weighs 3 pounds. We lost my parents dog unexpectedly Memorial Day weekend. It broke all of our hearts. A phone call from a family friend brought a little bit of love back into our lives on Friday. My parents went and looked at the puppies and brought one home.
She still has no name. We've tried Tiger, Cubby, Tatty, Minny, Honey, Remy and on and on and on. Nothing seems to be quite right. You look at her and you know she has the perfect name, we just haven't figured it out yet.
Anyway, after getting that text message, we put the pedal to the medal to get up to the lake to meet the newest member of the family. It was a gorgeous weekend at the lake. A little cool, but it gave us a chance to get some work done to close up the house.
Saturday night we were treated to a fabulous dinner party with great family and friends. I am normally a red wine drinker, but every once in awhile I like to switch it up. My dad introduced me to a new white wine. I am a HUGE fan.
And yes, little No Name came to the party and was a hit. Not everyone was thrilled with little No Name. I was really surprised that Buoy did not fall in love with her instantly. It may have had something to do with the fact that HIS mom was fawning all over the little baby instead of him. Oops. When she gets a little bit bigger I know they will be great friends.
Buoy enjoyed his last dip in the lake and then wanted to snuggle a towel because he was cold.
Our summer of driving back and forth from the lake is officially over. The next several weekend will be spent packing, moving and unpacking. As much as I don't want to say goodbye to summer, I am ready for things to quiet down a bit and stop putting so many miles on our vehicles.
Happy Monday! Is it Friday yet? Did you do anything fun this weekend?
