5 Things On My To Do List Right Now

This week's Listable Life is day late.  Which is ironic because it is about the things on my to-do list.  If you haven't figured it out by now, I LOVE lists.  Not only do they help keep me organized and focused, but the feeling of crossing things off is the BEST!  And let's be honest, when I say help keep me organized, please don't think that I am actually an organized human being.  I try.  Really I do.  And then life happens.  So writing lists also makes me feel better when things get completely chaotic.  And this seems to be one of those weeks. Most weeks lately have been chaotic.  Hence, the severe lack of blog posts in April and hence, this post being a day late.

So.  This also means I am going to quickly list 5 things, check this blog post off of my list, and then move on to the rest of my to-do list!

1).  Read Found It. A Field Guide For Mom Entrepreneurs by Jill Salzman Founding Mom of The Founding Moms.

Source: Founding Moms

If I had written this post yesterday, you would not have seen this on my to-do list.  I was at a Women in Business event this morning (my new favorite group by the way) and Jill Salzman was our speaker.  And she was FANTASTIC!  I enjoyed her so much that I bought her book immediately following the event.  I don't do that EVER!  Usually, if I think I might want the book, I walk away and think about.  And inevitably forget about the book and never buy it.  But I had to have this one.

Am I a Mom?  No, not really.  Unless you count being a Puppy Mom. But I empathize with balancing a crazy schedule.  And I know that once we do get around to having kids, that schedule is going to get even crazier.  So I better start preparing now, right?  And I will take all of the advice I can get!

2).  Finish setting up my Thirty One business.

There may or may not be more on this in the future, but for the moment, I have signed up to be a Thirty One Consultant.  Hi my name is Katie and I am A BAG FREAK!  Admitting it is the first step, right?  I LOVE purses, totes, cosmetic bags, bins, etc. etc. etc.  Not only do I get a discount to  buy bags for myself, but get a discount to buy bags as gifts.  Did that sound good to me? ABSO-FREAKIN-LUTELY!

Thirty One Bags

We go to so many weddings, showers, birthdays, a year that I am always looking for cute, clever, personal gifts to give.  Enter Thirty One.  I received some of their bags at one of my wedding showers last year.  Love them.  Use them all the time.  So why not give them to others?  I've had other direct sale businesses before (still kinda do), and I will be the first to admit, I suck at being my own boss.  But, theses are BAGS. PURSES. TOTES. <sigh>  They just make me happy.

So, I'm going to give it a shot.  And hopefully it works out.  But if it doesn't, oh well, I still get to keep my bags. (Did anyone else did get a creepy image of me, in a corner, with a crazy look in her eyes clutching her bags for dear life?  No?  Ok, then it was just me.)

3).  Figure out what to get my Hubby for his birthday.

It is coming up soon and I have no idea what to get him.  And of course, I have to be clever.  And not break the bank.  I am open to any and all suggestions!!!!

4).  Pack For This Weekend

We have a wedding this weekend.  A friend of mine from college.  And even though it is out of town, I consider it going home, since we are going back to my college town.  So I figure out what I am wearing to the wedding, and pack all my stuff.

5).  Get my returns done.

I have several bags of things (most clothes, but a few other random items) that I need to return.  See, I HATE trying things on in the store.  So, I inevitably buy the wrong size and have to return whatever I purchased.  I have a few stops to make (Target, Old Navy) and I just need to get them off of my to do list!  I usually do things like this over my lunch break, but lately I have either had lunch meetings or have been so busy that I have had to work through lunch.

Thanks again to Nicole over at Moment That Define Life for making me write a list about my list. =)  I love it!

What does your to-do list currently look like?

  1. That was an extensive list!! How did the week go? Did you cross them all off? I'm sorry I'm late to check on your post. What a week! And...now I have that book to add to my list! It is really rare when you can find a book that you want to buy instantly from meeting the person. So, I'm sold just by reading your one paragraph review!

    Thanks for linking up!
